Job Description:

We are looking for highly motivated individuals interested in learning a skilled trade.

No previous experience is needed.  Our staff will personally train all new hires in the art of lampworking.

Working with glass is very similar to welding or soldering, so experience in these fields is helpful, but not a necessity.

Once you are completely trained, we will expect you to put 40 hours of work into making beads; however, our expectations are not strictly set upon hours, but instead the number of beads produced. We require our artists to be consistently working towards the goal of producing 500+ beads a week.

Learning how to make our wonderful products requires a lot of patience and time on your behalf. Once you learn the skill, however, and begin producing quality glass beads, you can earn a substantial amount of income on a bi-weekly basis. It typically takes 3- 6 weeks of training. To be considered you need to be able to devote at least 30 hours a week during the  initial training period when you begin.

Training sessions take place in our Marietta studio, near the intersection of Shallowford Rd and Canton Highway. The more time you can dedicate towards coming to the studio and training, the faster you will be able learn this wonderful art. Typically your income during training is low, but you will be compensated for any buyable beads produced.

Once training is complete you are given the opportunity to work from home. Making the transition from our studio to your home is much easier, but you should still spend at least 8-16 hours a week here at the studio learning the art of making glass beads. The more time you can invest the better.

The biggest commitment new hires must make to Glassbaker is the time they put into the training process, because it very hard to learn the skill in a short amount of time.  Practice, patience, and guidance are the key factors to proper training. Once you learn the skill, and begin to work from the comfort of your own home, you will soon realize just how rewarding being an artist with Glassbaker can be.
